Frosh week mems

Funny little conversation that brings back a good laugh every time I think of it regarding RLK's (package with a New Testament Bible, Knowing God Personally booklet, Soul Cravings book and highlighter for first years to give them an opportunity to hear the gospel).

"What are we going to do with all the RLK's overnight?" Ian
"Let's just put them in the back of the Jesus truck" me
"Ewww then they will be all covered in dew" Ian
"Throw a blanket or tarp over them" me
"I guess that will just have to do" Joanna
"Oh Joanna, what would we do without you?" me

"We're all in this together"

So this morning I had a really funny idea for a blog topic. With this being the opening night of HSM3 I decided to dedicate this blog to all boys who have always wanted to see HSM but just never knew how. Here are some ways:

1. Call up a group of your lady friends and make it a note that you need to protect them from harm (if they are going in the evening), thus you need to come with them
2. Offer to babysit that kid you have never had any intention of babysitting just to go see HSM3
3. Go to the theatres tonight and sneak in with a group of girls (no one will ever know, wink)
Or

4. Be a lame boy sitting at home, wishing every time the movie plays you wish you would have gone to see it, sigh.

Big Soft Gingerbread Cookies

A long day of studying, always results in clean laundry and baked goods for me, ha! Today's baked good was these amazing Gingerbread cookies I found on all recipes.com!

Big Soft Gingerbread Cookies
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup of margarine, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup of molasses
2 tablespoons of white sugar

Directions
1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).  Sift together the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.  Set aside
2.  In a large bowl, cream together the margarine and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.  Beat the egg, then stir in the water and molasses.  Gradually stir the sifted ingredients into the molasses mixture.  Shape dough into walnut sized balls, and roll them in the remaining tablespoons of sugar.  Place the cookies 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet, flatten slightly.
3.  Bake for 8-10 minutes in the preheated oven.  Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.  Enjoy!
