Thoughts after a long day

9hrs of running around and one break is not what my body was designed for. I'm definitely designed to be a person who eats multiple snacks and smaller meals (I'm by no means a 3 big meals a day kind of girl).

After finishing today I looked at the clock and it was 5:30pm. My head was throbbing from lack of food and was in desperate need of something homemade. But of course when you live on your own, you are the one who does all the cooking. Not that I don't like cooking, but I don't like it when I have a migraine and would rather be in my bed with no lights or sound.

Back to the point of this post, I have come to realize that time is limited and precious. I get wondering about how I can make the most of my time. Especially when I have a family.

Work actually makes me think about my future a lot (in reference to marriage and family). I think about how exhausted I am when I walk in the door and immediately think of my future husband and how I don't want to be that wife that starts nagging him to do things when he walks in, but to give him his space (as I know I have so often needed).

Or how my day is pretty much done when I work from 7-4:30 and how if I had a family, I would have to run and try and get something yummy and healthy on the table at a decent hr, help the kids with homework (depending on age), bathe them, read them stories, bond with them and get them to bed (not to say I'm doing this alone, it would be a team effort, but that depends too on what kind of job my spouse would have).

All this to say, I see why some mom's choose to stay at home and invest in their kids and family. Whether it be cooking, running errands or other things around the home. It really is a full time ministry.

Agreed, high five to all the moms out there (Loni, Emily)!

I think you and I should start a policy - if we are ever too tired to cook and want to eat homemade food, we should text one another. 5 days out of 7, I have something ready to cook and would love to have you over!
