"Mary Did You Know?"

I listened to this a couple of times tonight {"Mary did you know" sung by a little girl name Noelle} as I read through Luke 1. Let me just say that SO many parts of that chapter JUMPED off to page.
First the conversation between Elizabeth and Mary in Luke 1:39-46. I can only imagine the sheer excitement and joy those two women must have shared together. As I read that passage over a couple of times, all I could think about was; "how much joy did these two women share?" and "what a beautiful moment that must have been!"

It says that when Elizabeth heard Mary's "greeting" the baby "leaped in her womb" {Luke 1:41} :O WOWZAS!

It then goes onto say how Elizabeth is filled with the spirit and calls the fruit of Marys womb "blessed" {Luke 1:42}.

Can you see it too? Two grown women giggling like little school girls over the blessed birth of Mary's child?

The last thing that spoke to me in this passage was Mary's song to the Lord {Luke 1:46-56};

And Mary said,

“My soul magnifies the Lord

and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.

For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;

for he who is mighty has done great things for me,

and holy is his name.

And his mercy is for those who fear him

from generation to generation.

He has shown strength with his arm;

he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;

he has brought down the mighty from their thrones

and exalted those of humble estate;

he has filled the hungry with good things,

and the rich he has sent away empty.

He has helped his servant Israel,

in remembrance of his mercy,

as he spoke to our fathers,

to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”

And Mary remained with her about three months and returned to her home.

A humble prayer that spoke to my heart.
